GWFA unites walking football players, clubs, and nations around the world, and we plan to work alongside FIFA, UEFA, and national federations to give the sport a permanent home in the game we all love.
Walking football has quietly become one of the fastest-growing ways people stay connected to the game they love, bringing health, friendship, and football itself back into people's lives, often well past the age they thought they'd stopped playing.
The Global Walking Football Alliance (GWFA) was founded to give this global community a true home: a place where players, clubs, and national associations can connect, and where walking football can build formal, lasting ties with football's governing bodies.
We're not here to reinvent the game. We're here to make sure everyone who wants to keep playing it, can.
01
From grassroots clubs to national associations, GWFA connects walking football players and organisers across every continent, sharing standards, support, and a sense of belonging.
02
Walking football keeps people moving, social, and part of a team, at a stage of life when many feel football has left them behind. GWFA exists to protect and grow that.
03
We plan to work directly with FIFA, UEFA, and national federations to build walking football into football's existing structures, not alongside them, but within them.

Grassroots clubs growing week by week, and the organisers who keep them running.

Looking for international recognition and one shared set of standards.

Who want a credible, unified partner to work with, not a rival to negotiate against.
